Screen-printed yardage, three yards in two colorways, printed by hand. The repeat pattern was developed digitally from photographs of crumpled paper, and made into a two-color design using half-tone dots. The turquoise fabric uses K-blocker in the lighter color to create emphasis against the colored ground, and the colors create a vibrant and celebratory feeling. The silver fabric was chosen for its silky sheen, to play with the illusion of play of light in the pattern. This adds dimensionality with shadows and highlights both within the printed pattern and on the physical fabric.
